GOD’S MARINE CORPS
A NEW CHRISTIAN YOUTH MINISTRY COMING TO THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU, TN
Looking For a Few Good Young Men/Women

ATHLETICS of all types have historically proven to develop many great qualities in children from a very young age that have molded them into the wonderful adults they are today. Individual character, discipline, resilience, teamwork, sharing successes, failures, comradery; these are all traits learned from sports and coaches. Children even develop lifelong friends at an early age because of sports. Ask any adult who played sports as a child and they will tell you the things they learned from their ball coaches stayed with them more than any other role model other than parents. The reason is simple, coaches see potential and talent in children and know how to develop those characteristics to make that child a better player than they ever dreamed possible. When that child places themselves under that instruction and sees themselves perform at a higher level, their gratitude toward that coach is forever celebrated.
However, coaches today are not always the role models they should be. We find coaches who try to instill in their players sports is more important than living for God or other Christian values. Coaches don’t blink an eye with the idea of having practice on Wednesday evenings and even want to play games on Sundays. When they do these things, they cause friction in the home of those parents whose Christian values are more important and thus cause anger and resentment in their child. They also exhibit less than desirable core value examples for the children and even subject our children to foul language they either not allowed to say at home or don’t even hear at home. All of these things leave children conflicted and their parents upset. Even some Karate or other martial arts programs teach children life skills and development, but do the parents realize some of these programs promote Eastern religions and/or philosophies? Would they subject their children to these programs if they did know?
In this modern era, there has never been a greater need for children to develop all of these qualities but with Jesus at the center. So, what if you child isn’t athletic. So, what if they aren’t interested in sports. There are other ways these same traits can be developed within your child. As Christians, we see all the more need to develop children in a spiritual sense. It is for this reason we are so passionate concerning this new program we will be offering to the youth of this area.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
The Christian life is not easily taught to young people. There must be a curriculum and setting/platform having the ability to provide a positive and exciting atmosphere for children to learn God’s word and ways while at the same time enjoy their time with fun activities. Children will be in a boy/girl scout or military environment where no civilian life/activities will be present. God’s Marine Corps follows the pattern of the United States Marine Corps military branch with emphasis on the spiritual application of Christian warfare. After all, we are in God’s army and must learn how to be that soldier God has created us to be. What better way to teach our young people how to be a soldier in the army of God than to teach them military fundamentals and how each of those lessons can be applied spiritually.
At God’s Marines, you will rest safe knowing your child will be in the most wholesome atmosphere possible. They will be taught respect, discipline, commitment, a sense of belonging, etc. Most importantly, they will be taught Core Christian values that will develop them in their walk with the Lord. All youth who enlist in this youth ministry/program will be taught:
- Teamwork
- Heart
- Leadership
- Discipline
- Perseverance
- Commitment

GOD’S MARINE CORPS SPECIFICS:
This isn’t your typical Vacation Bible School program, nor is it an average youth Sunday school class. As in our country’s military, each child will learn about themselves, their God and their adversary the devil. As every marine must learn to overcome their own weaknesses, both physical and mental, each child will learn physical, mental and spiritual things that will genuinely transform them into a soldier in the Army of God. Today’s child has become so soft, so delicate and thus unprepared to face the harsh realities of life. This weakness causes youth and young adults to seek refuge and escape in drugs and other dark environments. By not teaching our children these fundamental truths, we are setting them up to fail. This program will endeavor to plant the characteristics necessary for your child to be prepared for life’s circumstances.
Your child will undergo a transformation from a mildly disciplined child with little root, character, discipline, resolve and respect, to a child of such. Your child will also be taught, not only the basics of living a Christian life, but taught about the methods, strategies, tactics, wiles of the devil and how he deceives the world. The child will also be taught in the Word of God in how to combat all of these schemes. Each child will not only be encouraged to walk with the Lord but develop a spiritual military mindset that will enable them to overcome the wicked one.
This Christian discipleship program is geared toward boys and girls targeting ages 8-18. Teen and pre-teen boys and girls nearly always go through a rebellious period. Depending on their personality and peer influences, some of these rebellions are mild, while others seem to be spinning out of control. It’s important to understand that your child’s rebellion is not necessarily a reflection of your parenting skill, and even boys and girls from strong families go through a rebellious time. While you can’t necessarily control your child, you can control how you respond to them and their rebellion. Try strategies at home and school while also considering programs like God’s Marine Corps that can provide help and hope for your son and family.
YOUR COMMISSION:
It’s time to make an investment into the future of our children. Maybe sports are not a thing of interest to your children. Maybe your children mean more to you than just giving them an athletic atmosphere to make friends. Maybe you are a Christian parent that cares enough about your child’s spiritual development that you’re willing to give them, not just an atmosphere like a sports program that will develop their character, but to provide an atmosphere you don’t have to worry about their coaches exhibiting a less than standard Christian example.
