Modern Christianity has become so timid and weak in regards to spiritual warfare. Many believers today don’t want to get involved in the troubles of their loved ones for fear we will offend them or make things worse. We seem to cave in to just about any opposition. When a person doesn’t want to talk about the Lord, we all too soon want to just leave them in that darkness. What has this attitude accomplished? If anything, it has led to their destruction. It has also led to that person being pulled further and further, deeper and deeper into Satan’s bondages. Not getting involved allows Satan to do whatever he wants to do without any resistance from the church.
In the popular AC/DC song, HELLS BELLS, one line in the lyrics states “I won’t take no prisoners, won’t spare no lives. Nobody’s putting up a fight.” This song literally tells the tale of how Satan is leading people into hell; some knowingly, but most unknowingly.
However, the bible is full of men and women who not only determined to wage war, but prayed to God for war. Most of those prayers are petitions for God to avenge them of what their enemy had first done to them.
Although it should be obvious, it must be clearly stated here. We are not praying for war in the physical. We are not asking God to give us strength to fight in a physical war with a nation, country, or individual. This is all spiritual. We fight principalities. We fight the demons of Hell.
David prayed to God in 1 Samuel 30:8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
David said in Psalm 35:1 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my should, I am thy salvation.
In Luke 18:1-2 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, there was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Moses interceding for Joshua against Amalek in Exodus 17.
Those who pray for war in this way are willing to enter the fight. They will put their own boots on the ground. They themselves will get in the trenches. That soldier will suffer enemy fire. But the willing soldier recognizes that none of their loved ones will be rescued, saved, set free without that war taking place for their soul.
Praying for war reveals the resolve that is in your heart.
Is there not a cause?
We should not be ok with the demise of our people. We should engage ourselves whatever it takes to see them liberated from Satan’s bondage and destruction. If that means that we must get our boots on the ground and go fight for them, then let’s do it.
Our resolve should be to pray for war. We should ask the Lord for war to come so that we may see our friends, families and loved ones rescued. After all, they aren’t just going off into bondage, they are ultimately winding up in Hell. God help us!
The devil is not going to freely surrender your people back to you one day. He must be resisted. He must be fought against. There must be war waged for their liberation.
If you want your people to be saved then you will have to go to war for them.
Although there will be war, there will be victory.
Praying for war almost guarantees that you will have to get involved in the fight at some point. This is why most people don’t get involved. They aren’t hardened for warfare. The question you must ask yourself is this; do you love your people enough to fight for them?
Your assignment today is clear. Pray for war!
O God, please deliver my family member, loved one, or friend who is currently in bondage to the devil. If you need me to enter the war in some way, lead me. If I am not ready to wage warfare for the deliverance of them, then prepare me for that battle. Whatever must come, however the warfare must be engaged, and whatever hardness I must endure, I am willing to engage the enemy in the greatest capacity. As long as the war ends with my people liberated and set free, then my part in the war is worth it. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
