In war, maintaining communications (COMMS) is vital. The ability to transmit information on the battlefield is the difference between life and death. In order to be victorious, you must be briefed on the ever changing conditions as they change. Your spiritual life is no different. Maintaining clear communications with the Lord is actually more vital in this spiritual war. Nothing else comes remotely close.
How valuable do you consider your prayer life? Modern Christianity has falsely determined that God does not speak to His people. But to the contrary, Jesus said “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27. How valuable do you consider the voice of God? When the Holy Spirit speaks to you.
Daily communion with the Holy Spirit is vital to us. In prayer, the Lord reveals His will to us, He guides us in this daily warfare, and warns us of Satan’s attacks and weapons he fires at us. Without the secure connection with the prayer frequency of Heaven, we are out on the battlefield in Communications Blackout.
LOW SIGNAL
The bible speaks a very interesting truth that, if you will see it, it reveals that the Spirit of God is always speaking to His people, but a condition exists sometimes that may cause spiritual deafness, or in a military context, a poor signal.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29. Revelation 3:6, 13, 22. Matthew 13:9, Matthew 13:43
Isaiah 6:9-10 and Matthew 13:14-15 reveal that spiritual vision and spiritual hearing are the direct result of the condition of the heart. We can become dull of hearing.
NO SIGNAL
The bible also warns that the believer can become disconnected to the prayer waves of communication with God. Consider the following scriptures:
If I regard iniquity in my heart, God will not hear me. Psalm 66:18
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Isaiah 1:15
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Proverbs 28:9
But your sins have separated between you and your god that He will not hear. Isaiah 59:2
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. John 9:31
These verses reveal a sobering truth regarding our prayer life. If sin has entered your life, then sin has disrupted the signal of clear communications between you and God. The only remedy is to repent of what you’ve done, ask the Lord to forgive and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness, and He will do just that.

STATIC SIGNAL
There could be interference in the signal. Sometimes the devil’s voice is so loud that it seeks to drown out the signal of the Holy Spirit. God revealed to Elijah that God often speaks in a still small voice. Therefore Satan attempts to drown out the voice of God with his loud noise.
Is Satan taunting you in your mind? Are the growls of darkness echoing in your mind? Are the sounds of spiritual bombs, mortar fire, gunfire, rumbles of earthshaking explosinos going off all around you and it’s drowning out the signal coming from your radio frequency? It’s time for you to get rid of the noise. Get rid of the static.
Too much of the world comes into our ears each day. Worldly music, worldly tv, anything and everything that keeps our focus on earthly things. If we keep this frequency going in our ears each day, then we should not be surprised when the signal becomes static and we can’t get clear communications with God. Fine tune your signal in prayer. Remove yourself from the worldly static. You’ll find the signal comes in loud and clear when all other noises have been removed.
TEMPORARY BLACKOUT
The last thing we need to experience our battles is a communications blackout. David shared in Psalms that there are times when God does not speak directly to us. It is at these times we need to be reminded of a few things;
Psalms 35:22 This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.
The psalmist Asaph would declare the same things:
Psalm 83:1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
These scriptures reveal God does not always speak to us when we want Him to. Sometimes there is silence. Sometimes you will pray and God does not immediately answer. It is then that we need to rely on what God has already said to us.
REFERENCE THE MANUAL
When communications is lost on the battlefield, soldiers must consult the manual to determine the cause of the problem so they can perform equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly connected and functioning. But even then, there must be dialogue; or speech coming in both directions.
The Bible reveals to us how we are to keep ourselves connected to the vine. Jesus said
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
COMMUNICATIONS SABATAGE
Finally, sometimes the enemy seeks to sabatage the communications equipment. Notice the following passages of scripture in Daniel:
Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
This reveals some very telling truths. Daniel sought the Lord for undestanding. From the time Daniel called on the Lord, God sent this certain man clothed with linen (Daniel 10:5). But the a spiritual adversary withstood him. In effect, a messenger of Satan sought to distrupt Daniel’s answer to prayer.
This reveals something vital. The devil may have caused a delay, but the answer still came to Daniel. There is no such thing as a continual communications blackout. God will answer prayer. God will send the answer you need. Mark that down.
Your Ammunition for today;
MAINTAIN THE SIGNAL
What have we learned today from this message? There are many things that may cause disruption, low signal, no signal, communications sabotage or communications blackout. Whatever the case, you have the ability to restore and maintain that signal.
God is your help. The Holy Spirit is here to help and to guide.
Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not. Jeremiah 33:3
